TRADITIONAL Illustration

These illustrations were created by students in my AP Drawing class at Lincoln School, Nepal.

A commentary on rape culture, illustrating one woman’s appearance on the outside vs. her scars on the inside. 18”x24” Pencil and colored pencil on paper.

A piece devoted to the rape and murder of Zainab Ansari in Pakistan in 2017. 12”x12.” Mixed-media on paper.

This painting represents menstruation taboos created by patriarchal systems in society. Women are symbolized in pink outside a Hindu temple in Nepal, where they are not allowed to enter when on their period. 18”x24” Acrylic on canvas.

This pop-up illustration represents the hobbies, interests, and products that attributes to this student’s identity. Mixed-media on paper.

A third culture kid illustrates the complexity of growing up in Kathmandu, Nepal and studying at an American international school with her Korean heritage. 24”x18” Mixed-media on paper.
